Acupuncture is a technique of inserting and manipulating needles at specific points around the body, known as acupuncture points.  Acupuncture is used to change the way all the systems in the body operate to provide a balance to the body when there is an imbalance such as disease or pain etc. Acupuncture is carried out along the body's meridians The diagram shows the front and back side of the body's meridians.

What can acupuncture help with?

Acupuncture can help with most health problems particularly when it comes to aches and pains.  For example, headaches, stiff neck and shoulder, sore back and leg, stomach-aches, sports injuries, arthritis etc.  It also is good at helping you to relax.  If you are not sure if it can help with certain things, you could always contact us for more information.

Does acupuncture hurt?

No it does not!  The needles are so fine that you would not even feel them when they go in.  However this does not mean you would not feel anything, as they do create initial sensations like tightness or tingling, but they settle after seconds. In fact the more you feel, the better the results.

Are the needles sterilized?

All the needles are sterilized and are disposed after single use.

How long does a session last?

Normally between 35 to 70 minutes, it depends on the purpose of the treatment.

How many sessions do I need?

This depends on the detailed situation, like what are you having, how long have you had it for and how severe it is. Also every individual's reaction is different.  Therefore you will need to make an appointment for a consultation for detailed information.

Price is £45 per session.  There are packages to take when you need more than 3 sessions which works out a lot better value.
